The social veiws during the early 1900's were that segregation of colored and whites was okay. The whites did not think that the blacks needed the respect of the consitutional rights like they did, so they violated there rights all of the time. Through the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People also known as the NAACP, they tried to protest there rights during this time on many different occasions. Whites would not let colored people sit in certain sections on the bus, in restrauants, and the movies. They had seperate waterfountiains, bathrooms, schools among other things .
